Have a little faith in yourself

I posted something a while ago on Instagram that went a little like this - "If people think you're crazy you're probably on the right track in life." I've always done such obscure things in life and in actual fact the more someone tells me not to do something the more I will do it - much to the annoyance of the people around me.

I hate the rigidness of a normal job, in a normal world with everything predictably panning out. Instead I feel at harmony when I don't even know my schedule for the following week.

The world has such a mapped out plan for us - go to school, go to uni, get a 'good' job, get a mortgage, get married, have kids. It seems like venturing off this path leaves you in their eyes as unsuccessful to some extent. If people don't understand something they usually prefer to shun it however ground breaking an idea might be.

Well, have a little faith in yourself! If you don't believe in yourself and what you do then no one else will. Ignore society, ignore the norm and if you think outside the box you have a lot better chance at having a fabulous life than all the people in the box.

Even when there are so many factors trying to dull your sparkle, search for that little light, that inner voice that knows you can do it. If someone tells you you will never make it - prove them wrong.

If someone tells you you're not quite good enough - show them that you're even better.

Most of all if someone tells you 'No!' then get yourself to a point where you don't even need them to say 'Yes' anymore.

Today was the day after the night before. I went the Baftas last night, something that I never in a million years thought would be happening this weekend. If someone told me when I started taking pictures of my sparkly leggings and sneakers a year ago (that cringeworthy first blog post) it would start me on a path that would get me my very own ticket to the Baftas I would have laughed. Anyone would have laughed, but you have to start somewhere.

The very best place to start is at the beginning - if that makes sense. So if there is something that you really want to do, just have a go, see what happens. You will be surprised how much you will learn along the way.

Do something today that in a years time you will thank yourself for.
