OVERSIZED SHEEN

OVERSIZED SHEEN

A DIFFRENT KIND OF GLAM

- Why covering up is empowering -

It’s easy to hitch the hem and whack out your cleavage for attention butin the words of Pink sometimes relying on your brain is just enough. This International Women’s Day got me thinking about what it means to be a woman and why the semi-naked Kardashian clan are so god damn famous.

"Shout out to all of the women, across the world, using their brains, their strength, their work ethic, their talent, their 'magic' that they were born with, that only they possess. It may not ever bring you as much 'attention' or bank notes as using your body, your sex, your tits and asses, but women like you don't need that kind of 'attention.' In the quiet moments, you will feel something deeper than the fleeting excitement resulting from attention, you will feel something called pride and self respect. Keep on resisting the urge to cave. You'll never have to make silly excuses for yourself." – Pink!

The commercial world tells you to volumise your hair and wear skimpy clothes on a night out but why not do the opposite. Here, I slicked my hair back and went for an oversized sheen dress from the Asos White Collection. Want to know the best bit? It’s really comfortable!

DRESS: Asos White Collection

SHOES: Boohoo

EARCUFF: H&M

I wear oversized items a lot as you will probably notice and I guess that’s tactical as I completely and utterly agree with Pink’s message. I feel like women who use their bodies for attention or in this day and age for followers it’s almost like cheating. Let’s face it we all have a set of tits anyone can do that – why not capture the world by creating something new?
